Chapter 5 - Negative Nightly News

Ingredient Five - Negative Nightly News

All we watch all day long are "anomalies" bad acts and events which are NOT the norm but come to define who we are.

Instead of helping us evolve and change our hardwiring from negative to positive - which requires daily work, the nightly TV news reinforces our false belief that people are mostly bad, we even believe it in ourselves, filling the void in our minds

Good news typically happens slowly. Bad things, car wrecks, murders take seconds to happen; .

horrible acts of violence come to define our outlook - how could they not? We come to think that evil, trauma and catastrophe is what defines our existence. When these things are the exceptions to the rules.

Negative political advertising has been normalized, and guarantees we think less of our leaders and less of ourselves.
